It honors the history that has built our current organization and the progress we will continue to make. Through our legacy companies, Cox laid the first cable lines in Acadiana in 1965 – and started by offering eight channels. Today, we offer over 280 channels, plus over 4,000 hours of On Demand content with plans for more expansion in the coming years.

Past Forward also honors the transition we made in 2009 when we brought together the experience, talent and resources of Cox's three Louisiana markets – Acadiana, Baton Rouge and New Orleans. With this merger, Cox Louisiana has become our company's fourth largest market and a major economic driver for the state we serve. According to a recent LSU study, Cox Louisiana creates an economic impact of over $1.6 billion in business activity, $387 million in personal earnings, including its own payroll and contract labor, and the creation and support of 11,520 jobs, including the jobs directly associated with our Louisiana operations.

With some employees marking over 30 years in service, and many more with decades of experience, we also honor the tenure and tenacity of our local talent. With over 1,650 people who work and live in our market, our most valued assets – our people – embody our focus on customer care and community service. This has been our tradition and will continue to be our legacy for decades more to come.
From the cable pioneers in our local markets, through our current team, we have spent decades investing in our regional infrastructure in order to launch the digital cable, high-speed Internet and digital telephone products that our residential and commercial customers deserve. From 2006 through 2009 we invested an average of $121 million per year in our existing telecommunications backbone. Over the next several years, we will continue to invest and expand our network to ensure that our urban and rural customers will have the cutting-edge technology they need to thrive in our global economy.
